Journal prompts for self-discovery, and a place that keeps your answers.

These are the self-reflection questions Kitehold actually asks. You answer the ones that mean something today and leave the rest. Nothing has to be finished, and no answer is ever overwritten.

What it is not

It is not a personality test. There is no score, no percentage, no profile to complete and nothing to keep up with. An unfinished map is a map.

The questions

What I notice

How you tend to work. What comes easily, what drains you, what you keep doing.

  • What did you notice about yourself?

My limits

The things you do not get to choose. Each kind asks something different: train it, adapt to it, or accept it and work with it.

  • What is one of your limits?
  • What makes this difficult to accept?
  • What do I wish were different?
  • Is this something I can change, train, adapt to, or only accept?
  • What happens when I refuse to accept this limit?
  • What does this limit seem to threaten about how I see myself?
  • Is there a role or identity rule that makes this limit feel intolerable?
  • What could working with this reality look like?

Roles I carry

The rules you feel you have to live up to. "I have to be the one who knows."

  • I feel I have to be…
  • Where might this come from?
  • What does this role give me?
  • What am I afraid would happen if I broke it?
  • What doesn't this role allow me to be?
  • What does maintaining this role cost me?
  • Does this role still feel like mine?
  • If I stopped protecting this role, what might become possible?

My values

Directions you choose, not standards you have to meet.

  • What quality or direction do you want to cultivate?
  • Why does this matter to you?
  • Would I still choose this if nobody saw it?
  • Does this feel chosen or inherited?
  • How does this value show up in my actual behavior?
  • What does living this value look like in practice?
  • What am I willing to sacrifice for it?
  • What am I not willing to sacrifice for it?
  • Is this a value or a rule I use to judge myself?
  • How would I follow this value even after failure?

Open questions

What you are still working out. A question can stay open for as long as it needs to.

  • What are you still trying to understand about yourself?

When you change your mind, the old version stays

Rewrite something and the previous wording is still there to read. That is the part that matters: what the map keeps is not who you are, it is how your understanding of yourself changed.

What you write stays in your account. The app does not read it, does not analyse it, and does not send it anywhere.

These questions live in Self Map, inside Kitehold, under Examine.
